For the first 15 minutes, Dr. Theanna Bischoff, developmental psychologist, will talk about an area of development and provide activities & toys to help your baby build skills in this area - activities will target babies from newborn to age 2; toys & materials will be provided. The remainder of the time will be devoted to moms & dads practicing skills with their babies as well as socializing and meeting other parents. Parents can ask questions of Dr. Bischoff as well as parents with babies older than theirs to learn about how little ones develop and grow.
OCTOBER 25 - Reading Week: Come learn about the importance of reading to your baby starting when they’re fresh out of the womb! Explore different books from Dr. Bischoff’s collection and discover ways that toys can be incorporated into reading to enhance baby’s language development.
NOV 1 - Disappearing Acts: Come learn about object permanence - how babies eventually learn that things that disappear still exist and can come back. Games will include things like classic Peek A Boo, Hide & Seek and other “magic tricks” for babies and toddlers.
NOV 8 - The Baby Boogie: Come prepared to sing, dance, and make some noise with your little one. We will discuss the ways music and rhythm help develop babies’ brains, and then lets babies explore various instruments and practice making music together.
Other notes: Feel free to breastfeed, bottle feed, or bring snacks for your babies, but please no nuts!
